Founded in Orlando, FL in 2012, the Florida Center for Hormones and Wellness is the premier practice for bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. The Challenge

Four years ago, the team was growing rapidly, with more than 2000 patients receiving care at the practice. They had an existing EHR solution, but it was difficult to use and did not have an attractive or easy to navigate interface. In addition, it did not offer a patient portal. Customer service was overseas and it was difficult to get questions answered in a timely manner.

“We were using only 20% of the functionality of our EHR because it was so difficult to use,” explains Jody Layne, Chief Operating Officer, Florida Center for Hormones and Wellness. “We were looking for a company who would innovate with us. After attending the WorldLink conference we were introduced to Cerbo. They had an awesome demo and after evaluating a few other providers we selected them.”

The Solution

Cerbo stood out due to a number of reasons. The patient portal was nicely designed and easy to use. The Chart Parts functionality was also very helpful. The overall interface was very well organized and the layout was efficient with everything at your fingertips. Finally, the billing module was easy to manage. During the implementation phase, the team relied on online videos so they could do a lot on their own.

“The overall implementation experience was very positive,” says Patrick Dermody, General Manager, Florida Center for Hormones and Wellness. “The support team is excellent and Cerbo took care of ensuring the data was clean and that there were no mistakes.”

The Results

Prior to implementing Cerbo, patient communication was very manual. The self service nature of the patient portal provides patients autonomy and reduces their call volume significantly. Their patients took to Cerbo very quickly.

“Cerbo is very intuitive. The ease of use and ability to quickly train new staff was remarkable,” confirms Dermody. “The ability to configure the platform with tools unique to our workflow is a game changer compared to our previous EHR. The patient survey alone saves us an hour and a half each day that we previously spent calculating survey results. You can make it your own, design your workflow, and set it up the way you want it. It makes your life 10x easier.
